Certified to 9 seconds for the drag strip. Do you all just use mustang/universal kits from jegs and summit?

Let me know I need it quick

thanks...

I had mine built locally for 600 CAD including the steel. that was for a 6-point though,
Do you have any good shops local? or near by?

If you want the best cage possible then go custom. It'll fit better, leave more room and be safer than a bolt in cage.

I was look'n at that on the crapper today at work. I'll probably just go with one of those and cut it to fit. Unless anyone knows of a made to fit kit at a reasonable price?

Kirk Racing might also make a bolt in cage.

Now whether or not either one is ok for drag I don't know, they're designed for road racing.

If you HAVE to be NHRA legal, get a current rule book FIRST. If you run at any of the larger NHRA tracks they will be very strick about how the cage is installed. I think that once you reach the 9 sec. range the cage can NOT be bolted in. There are also many other rules/regulations regarding how the car is built(harness mounting, battery mounting, master power switch location, fuel line routing, etc....) The rule book is writen to protect YOU (or the driver) , follow its requirements. I'm sure you know, but a 9 sec car is very fast and unexpected things can go very wrong very fast. Give yourself the chance to walk away in case it does.

Ditto, plus what txfatboy said. If there is ever something NOT to go cheap on (espeically in a 9 sec car!) its safetly equipment like cages and harnesses. Cheap will bite you in the ***, but cheap safety equipment can kill you.
