I need opinions on some different tire dimensions

ok, so im going to buy new tires sometime soon, like before winter. i'd like to get different dimensions though. right now i have 16x8" rims with 225/50/16 tires all around. for the fronts, im looking to get skinnier tires and not as tall, as my front tires rub on my fenders going over large bumps in the road, they really fill up the wheelwell perfect, maybe a little too much though, plus i dont need like 9" of tire on the front, AND i have spacers up front, which make them stick out much more than the back, thus me wanting skinnier tires for the front. still with me? ok. for the back, i'd like the total oposite - wider tires, and a little taller, as i dont think they fill the wheewell enough, and fat rubber out back is a good thing. just tell me if im going in the right direction with my choices:

front - from ---> to:
225/50/16 ---> 205/40/16

rear - from ---> to:
225/50/16 ---> 235/60/16

i did measure everything on my car and they would fit no problem, but i just need to know if a problem could arise with using these dimension tires as compared to the ones i have now. i dont need mega grip super expensive $200 a piece tires. i dont burn out, the car is my daily driver and i just need decent tires that will last me like a year or more. $80-$100 is what im looking to spend for each, right now i have my eyes on some decent kuhmos on tire rack, i have yet to check on discount tires.com or whatever the website is. comments...?

and rear....225/50r16 (keepit the same.....

235/60r16 will make your car look like a 4x4.....that size came stock on a suzuki vitera!!

i was thinking about that, i may go 215 up front, maybe 205 is too skinny? still want to go to 40 though, i dont think i'll be able to see much difference from 50 to 45, or will i?

are 235 for the rears really that wide?

kinda funny, my friend just got 500 a piece drag radials for his lightning and they're 305 wide. they are just monsterous.

its not that the 235's are wide...they are just really tall!! and 45 series to 50 series is not big, but its enough!! i know, ive seen those tires...they are as wide as a corvettes... just incredible...wish i could fit those on my car!!!
