i need help with my rb header
i have an 86 n/a
i bought an exhaust kit from mazdatrix.it a header back, uncollected, dual exhaust system.
when i got it it didnt have any instructions. i got the system in place just fine, it bolted right in.
the header has two holes. 1 is for the o2 sensor and the other one is for this metal tubing that screws into it. that piece makes a 90 degree angle and heads up toward the hood of the car, it stops about 5in from the top of the strut tower. it also came with a blue rubber tubing that fits onto the metal tubbing.
i have no idea where the blue tubing conects. can anybody help me?

I am assuming this is what you bought? => http://www.mazdatrix.com/r-ex86nt.htm
If it is, that extra pipe is the for the activation of the fifth and sixth ports. They need a slight pressure in order to actuate. There is a rubber hose that comes off the engine and then turns into a metal dump tube that originally led to the main catalytic converter. You need to tie that rubber hose into the metal line that comes off the header somehow.

Trust me it is there, or it was at some point. The rubber hose/dump tube comes off the rear, lower passenger side of the engine near the fifth and sixth port actuators. If it was not night I would take a picture of where it was.

Here you go. In this pic, my dump tube was cut, but you can still see where it comes off of. The hose runs from the dump tube to the 5th/6th port actuators. I believe you need to take off the hose that's already on there and put the blue tubing that came with the header onto the piece that goes to the 5th/6th port actuators, and the other end to the header's backpressure tube. I'm not sure exactly what that looks like, in this picture my hose runs up front to an electric airpump, which I think is a lot better method of operating the ports.
Good luck!
