Question I NEED help with my car

Ok, I have a problem with my engine. Today, I flushed out the coolant because I was overheating, I also got new radiator caps (definitely necessary). That problem seems to have been fixed. However, when I am driving it, it runs REALLY rough, and will stall when I hit the throttle fast... anybody have any clue what's going on? Oh, and I also got a new alternator belt, and did a voltage check on it while running and while not running... didn't seem to be any problems there... please help!

i dont think the problem is related to the coolent problem, but i could be wrong. may possibly be a problem with the mass air sensor. theres actually two pins you can test with a multimeter, when the flap opens and closes

first off, I would also change thermostat (use Mazda). and check rest of cooling system for problems.

was the car running rough before it started overheating. if yes, then the 2 problems are separate. if the rough running condition is a result of the overheating, then you need an engine. in any case, just to be sure, I would recommend a compression test and coolant pressure test.

any more info helps. does car smoke?

I am planning on changing the thermostat, I'll most likley order from mazdatrix. The car was not running too rough before it started overheating, in fact, it had been overheating the whole time i've had the car, I just thought it was a lean running engine... and no, the car does not smoke. And rice eater, is the mass air sensor the same thing as the air flow meter? I'm assuming it is, but I'm still new to 7's and cars in general... thx people, reply with any other ideas (I have also heard I may have a vac leak...)

Yah, mass air flow and sensor are the same thing.

Could be a vacuum leak. Maybe you bumped something off. Check the intake tract to see if you forgot to tighten something.
