I need help on my 87 FC

i have an 87 FC N/A....a while back my brother drove it and it overheated. So now it takes a while to turn on a then after a few minutes starts to overheat.also when i try to drive it it has no throttle response.....for example i floor the gas pedel and it hardly go's. at a stop i have to hold in the clutch and rev the engine high just to keep it from shutting off...i assume it has a coolant seal leak.i really need help...any help is welcome thank you

This does not sound good. Search for "bubble test" and/or pressure test the cooling system. Are you loosing coolant with no visible external leaks?
