pull both EGI fuses then the lower plugs and crank the engine for 15 seconds then add a couple of squirts of ATF to each hole, put the plugs back in and fuses and try to fire it up.

have your friend pull start you (use a rope or tow rope to pull you around and pop it in gear. ITs bound to work. Sounds like it is SERVERLY flooded. IF nothing else use the shot gun but not on your-self.

Yeah i agree. Something similar happened to me recently and i had to push start my car. The amount of smoke that came out of that thing was fricking amazing. But it ran fine afterwards.

Just hold out on the shotgun a little longer

Might also try a new battery. You have to get the engine to spin as fast as possible when it's flooded, that's why pull starting it works.

doesn't it have a locking torque convertor? seems like if you got enough speed it might work. But don't break anything, maybe (not sure, but yes on a subaru) an auto trans in neutral rolling with the engine off wouldn't have fluid flowing to lubricate.

in addition to both egi fuses... take out plugs and hold a lighter to them for a little while and scrub them with a light wire brush... try to spray solvent too; whenever my car flooded during break in the plugs got fouled and i either had to do that or replace them. i know you replaced them but you may have to do it again... i did. there are also other plugs that seem more hearty but you shouldnt use for an extended period of time... i think they're autolite 2626's.

and don't listen to him... automatics can still be fun, i just wouldn't have taken mine unless it was free.

they should be the 2 fuses closest to the engine on the driver side strut tower... there is also a yellow connector for the fuel pump by the steering column under the dash inside the car that i've used to disconnect and then crank. some say the yellowish connector has better results anyways.

because its automatic it may just have one EGI fuse. the fuse should be the top one.

Hey, I think that it is an s5 thing to only have 1 fuse near the engine... that is all my manual has. I just had a similar experience to you. It just took about 4 hours to fix. I turned that thing over a bunch of time to where I was getting white smoke without the fuse in just due to the large amount of gas. So just keep trying, you'll probably need to go through a couple of battery charges. Cleaning my plugs and going between fuel cut wide open starting and giving it a lil bit of throttle it started....

and like somebody said.... dang that large cloud of cancerous gas when it cranks is wretched

it is a vert S5 so it only has one EGI fuse but it also has the fuel cut option so leave the EGI fuse in place and remove the plugs and clean them then add a little bit of ATF to each plug hole and reinstall the plugs then floor the accelerator, crank the engine in 15 second bursts about 3 times or so letting the starter cool between crankings then let off the accelerator and apply only a little bit of throttle and crank the engine.

s5 cars have only one fuse.

You dont mention injecting any oil or atf into the engine during the unflood procedure, this makes a big difference. IF you have been doing this, try using a little bit more next time. Also, have another set of plugs to try...stock plugs foul easily.

Finally, NEVER move your car and shut it back off when cold...let it warm up fully before shutting it off. IF you shut it off and remember that it was not warmed up, go immediately and start it back up, to prevent it from flooding ( if it hasnt already).

are you sure your spark plugs are firing? May want to test the coils, you never know.
