I need help
Hello,
I have a 1987 rx7 that is a non turbo car, but I am going to make it a turbo car. I know that it needs the turbo trans and drive shaft but can I use the stock rear end or does it need the whole rear end out of a turbo car?
Thanks

Welcome to the forums.
First and foremost, search. These questions have been answered before and you can find the answers you need easily.
Ok, you have to swap out to a T2 rear end. NA and T2 are not interchangeable. You would want to swap it out anyways for a different gearing.

You have two options for running a turboII transmission on a originally N/A chassis.
1. You will need a tII driveshaft, tII differential, and tII axels.
or option
2. Run a tII transmission and use the mazdatrix driveshaft to bolt it up to your stock N/A diff.
Whichever option you chose(1 being the better bet) now is a great time to replace the old worn out differential bushings.
p.s. its not really a gearing option between the tII and n/a diffs as most are of the 4.1 ratio variety(save for some autos at 3.9 and the GTUs at 4.3). So odds are for you switching between a N/A and tII diff wont change your gearing, the trans will do that, being the tii has a bit shorter first, second, and third gears(not much).
