Talking I made sleek headlights

I made some sleek lights. Cf housings with sylvania 4153 lights? that are generic lights that are used in some trucks and cars. Anyhow the lights are street legal. I put the lights in for giggles and the pics look like crap because of the snow and the dirty rex but you get the idea. I put my stock ones back on but put these on for a test fit and the passenger side one is a lil off after i moved the car (they werent bolted in, i just sat them in there). Here are a couple of pics... just for those curious.

Nice looking lights. Are they the "mini" ones GM used in the 94-97 Camaro's? Do they have a high beam?

looks pretty nice! I think it would look better with round lights tho. Is there enough space for those?

When are you gonna start selling them?

yea, with round lights and maybe the passenger side or both light can have a slight gap between the top of the housing and the hood to allow cool air to the engine bay and cold air intake. looks cool

Pretty nice.Wish they were 2 round lights in each light instead of the rectangle though.

cant fit the round lights for right now, there is no space, I could fit them possible but they would have to go even further beneath the line. We will see what happens, but this is about as good as it gets and they are 2.5 inches tall, but the depth problem behind the light kit housing is the issue because of that radiator support. Ill sell some for now I guess. Lights are more expensive than you think at 50 a pair. Ill sell for $289 for everything if anyone is interested.

Would it be totally illegal to use 2 Hella fog lamps in each housing? If so, do you think a cop would be able to tell you have illegal equipment?

You could use fog lights, but once you get out of the city lights and into the country, you won't be able to see much. Fog lights direct most of their light downward, and because of the lens pattern, don't have much range.

One of the reason you use fog lights is to find the edge of the road when the headlamps just glare back at you.

If the cops are looking for a reason to ticket you, they'll find one. Why bother risking it. The low-beam only solution the original author has is better than fogs. Just make sure they are aimed right so you don't get Johnny Law's attention because you blinded him.

No high-beam = useless. Are high-beams a legal requirement anyway?

Yes hi-beams are a legal requirement...at least in my state and I'm pretty sure most others as well.

yeah i was thinking of using that as well..but you dont understand, is is nearly impossible to fit anything else in there that has any depth or thickness without cutting the wall behind the housings...when I have some more money I will see what i can come up with.

Losing part of your ability to see where you're going at night is never a good trade-off for looks.

like i said from my other thread when i started this whole thing with this single setup that the single light was not the intended project for those that followed my other thread. Te intention was and still is to fit the round lights in there at some point but they are going to have to be lower in the housing and I will have to wait until the money is here to do so, but the cost is also going to be abit higher, around something in the 400 range, whereas some people are looking for something more simple and less expensive in the meantime here is a product that can satisfy that need vs. something like an eastbear kit that cost 600 bux, so yes there will be the original intended product with round lights with a high beam and what not ALONG with my conversion kit to come, but those will wait, but as far as this goes it does have uses for those wanting to save and not too particular on the high beams.. I did have an idea of running the high beams behind the ftps, but that would take more work, and if anyone wants to play with it themselves I will sell the housings by themselves.

I forget what forum or even what kind of car the guy was making them for but he took the bulb out of a light such as that one with only a low beam and made two way high/low beam bulbs fit. I'd be interested in buying those and trying that cause i actuall like the square light in there i think it fits our cars nicely, good work
