I made a Header air box
I wish I had a digital camera to take pictures for you guys, so I will try to explain, what I made last night.
First off I made a 2 sided box around the headers on the engine, this box is basically a top and a side. It makes a box, by using the side of the frame rail, and the bottom of the box is open. The box has no front of back to it. The box looks like the number 7, without the slant.
I then took a 3' long section of 4" diameter piping and connected it to the back side of my radiator fan.
You wouldn't believe the amount of air that is flowed directly onto the headers, Dropped the temp, and has really cooled the underhood temps significantly.
This setup mainly works best at a stop, while running, but I know it works while driving as more air is going right to the headers and trying to keep them cooler, and thus increaseing scavenging of the exhaust gases.

I thought about using some sort of heat wrapping, or some way to keep that exhaust heat from my engine bay, but I still have so much **** on my engine (vac lines and all) that it would be a pain in the as to try that right now

I just used a single sheet of aluminum attached to the header bolts, then just layed it onto the frame rail with a piece of rubber under it to stop it from rattling. It took about a half hour with the intake off, but would be a little more difficult with the intake on the motor. Any way to keep heat out of the intake air is a good mod if you ask me. Even better when it costs five bucks.
