I know this is stupid. But where is the check engine light??

i cant seem to find on in my car.. i think the bulb might be blown or something .. cuz when i start the car it doesnt light up . and i want to check if im pulling any codes.

It is in the idiot light cluster. (that light cluster in the center of your dash....)

is it the blank on on the bottom left??,, other than that all the other ones light up . except of that one

On my S5, it is directly above the low fuel light.


Or it is on the top row, and if you start at the left (drives side), is is the 5th light.

well for some reason i dont have it.. i have a s5 to. this is what i have (as looking at it in the car from the drivers side) left to right, top to bottom

[hatch ][overheat exh syst][washer][door ][stop][fuel]
[blank] [add coolant] [charger][oil level][brake][belt]

Mine is like this:


Air bag, overheated exhaust, doors, belts, check engine, washer fluid,

Parking brake, add coolant, charge, oil level, fuel, Security.

Mine is also a Vert.

I'm not sure if the coupe/vert are different. Or if you have a Vert?

yes sir. i cant make them light up since my car is dead and my battery is in the trunk. i might be able to try and look at them at a certain angle to see if i can make out what the pictures are. i know i've done it before.

yea, i have a 91 coupe.
i tried, but i couldnt really make out the symbols. i saw hatch and fuel. if i had a flashlight, i could have shined it in there and caused a reflection. sorry man. i know someone else here has an s5 coupe.
oh, and its 96 degrees outside, so about 100-110 in my car. and the concrete burned my feet.

i have the EXACT SAME as RedShayla. exactly, even my belts light doesnt come on (actually, it was always on so i took out the light). my clock doesn't work, but icemark can fix that. not exactly "museum" material.

haha, yall's clock doesn't work? damn, i thought i was pretty bad off that my clock changes brightness every few minutes. and about once a month, it resets itself to 1:00.

mine works once in a while .. tonight mine lasted about 10 minutes .. then shut off.. i grounded the ecu a little better and i thought that solved that problem..but no. hehehehhe i can care less about the clock.. what i want to know where the hell is my check engine light ??
