I know it's not a tech post, but I just smoked an MR2 Turbo...

Hey, I know ithis should be in the lounge or something, but I'm just
pretty happy!
I was toying around while driving behind my gf's honda, and I some guy in a souped up 91+ mr2 turbo saw me and started riding my ***... I don't know what engine mods he had, but he had a lot of exterior, suspension, rims, etc, so I'm assuming something.
Anyways, I dropped it down a gear and let it go for a bit, and he was following me, I came up to a stop sign, and dropped it- he let it go right behind me- and we were on a long stretch of road, he kept up OK(a little slower) untill about 140km, but then by 200km I was at least 10-15 cars ahead. I had a lot of throttle left, and a lot of road, but I hit the brakes, I know I had him smoked- he roared by me, and he still wanted to race more!!
No thanks. He got cooked!
I NEVER get to race imports, it's ALL mustangs and crap around here, it's good to get into a race with a real sports car once in a while- I can never seem to get into races- my first one in months! (That's why I'm happy, even though this may seem boring/daily to some..!)

Later...
Dan.

How you know it was a turbo?&nbsp Did you see the tiny, color-coded "turbo" badge on the rear?&nbsp Or the raised deck-lid vents?&nbsp Or managed to notice the slightly wider tires?

I doubt it was a turbo, as a turbo SW20 will smoke a stock FC turbo.&nbsp I put money it was a non-turbo you beat.

I can beat a stock fc turbo too! (I've done it a few times) (emphasis on stock)

It was dark, I could only see the raised engine deck vents- I just found out this is a turbo feature from a Super street article this month! Otherwise I wouldn't have known. Except it was definately pretty fast .
There is NOW WAY that could have been an NA that almost kept up with me. (I really don't mean to blow my own horn at all, or anything, but I am not too slow...)
I believe the turbo ET's are about 6.1 sec 0-60 and a 14.8 sec 1/4...
The non turbo only have about 140 hp... and it's pretty slow. (8 sec something)
That fits perfectly with my recorded times, and what I saw while we raced.... (My 0-60 is only a tick faster, but my 1/4 time is at least .5 faster- minimum).

Hey RETed- Don't worry, it was a good chunk of answers to posts by you that got my engine to where it is!

I will dyno soon to prove... I've gotta properly tune my AFC.

Having been in BamBam7's car, and a turbo MR2, I have no doubts that it was an mr2.

BamBam7's Car is seriously fast.

Nice kill.
