i hear a lot about the 5th and 6th ports on the N/As. what are they, and what do they do? why are so many people talking about them?
heh sorry for being ignorant, i'm looking for an rx7 as my first car this summer and so i dont really know much yet.

They are used to help induction system for top-end on N/A FC's.. There is a search button, use it.

The correct term is auxiliary ports, and they are part of the 6-Port Induction (6PI) system. They are closed at low rpm to increase port velocity (better mixing and atomisation of the fuel for improved performance) and open at higher rpm for allow the engine to breath better.

Many other cars run systems that have basically the same effect. Variable valve lift systems like Honda'S V-TEC and Mitsubishi's MIVEC are obvious ones, but there are other's like the system on older multivalve Nissan's that used a butterfly valve to close one of the two intake ports at low rpm.
