I know this has been gone over but i need help on the 3800 rpm dead spot fix

first off i know this is a worn out subject and i appologize for this but i cant effectively perform a search i guess cuz my computer is so slow. now i understand the grounding procedure on the pressure sensor thing on the strut tower and this is where my question is. Ive got an 88 vert and according to this website: http://www.johnr.com/rx7faq/faq3.html it says to splice into the brown wire with a black stripe. I looked mine over and i dont have a wire that color. So i did the next thing and spliced into the one that it says is the top left and well, lets just say i fried a ground wire doing this So my question is what wire should it be in my case? i plan to do this and redo or replace all the factory grounds but something tells me that this is the root cause because the car is a texas car with 0 rust or corrosion on it at all and at glance all my grounds look great. If yall could point me in the right direction id appreciate it. I attempted to search but it takes so long for it to go through that my computer times it out and says page cannot be displayed. Thanks everyone.

The TSB that suggested regrounding the boost sensor only applied to early S4's, and not your 88. Doing this will have no effect.

Ahh i c then, i thought i was doing it right. If i recall right which is probably completely wrong it said 86-88 was what this worked on. So is it even worth trying to put additional grounding straps on it or should i just live with it? Its not that big of a deal just sort of annoying when ur getting on the highway or something.
