I know that this has already been dicussed somewhere and I've read it, but I'm still having a problem. I have a 1987 FC with the 13B engine that won't rap up to redline. Before it was only when the car was cold, but now it's all the time. Even if the car is at operating temperature it still won't travel past 4,500 rpm. I recently installed new plug and wires, but I don't think that hurt or helped. Just in case though, I used: NGK 5483 trailing and NGK 3559 leading spark plugs and NGK plug wires. It runs a lot smoother, but it won't run to redline. Please help me out here, I'm lost.
thanks

I'm fairly new to rotary service but it almost sounds like the engine isn't 'breathing'.
Try to run it without the air filter on a clean air day or maybe the catalytic converter(s) are spent and jamming the exaust.
Only 4500 is pretty sick.
