I know this has been asked before - Exhaust
So i spent too long working on my shifter ****, and my exhaust got jealous, so it decided to snap right behind the main muffler (The one right before it the "Y" piece in the exhaust.. What's everyone's recommendation? Do you think something like this is patchable? I'm thinking that this exhaust is incorrectly made, since there seems to be alot of tension on it (it's hard to get it to go back to original position)... or should i look into a new one, and what's the rough costs on those?
Thanks for your help!

Not easily patched. You have several options as I see it.
1.) Buy a used stock y-pipe and bolt on your old mufflers
2.) Have a shop custom make a y-pipe for you and use your old mufflers
3.) Throw down some $$$, and get a new, better performing setup

thanks rico... hmm.. any idea how much a new exhaust costs, i'm looking around at places like rx7.com and seeing like 600 dollars for new everything... i'm probably forgetting something right? See, the big problem is whoever had the car before me welded everything together from the gasket, so i'd probably need new cat, new muffler, new Y, dual mufflers, right?

oh, and is that a big cat, not a muffler right before the Y?
edit: Okie, sorry about the stupid question, i found out myself by looking around more... for anyone else like me who is not that familiar with exhaust layouts and terminology, check out rx7.com's page here: http://www.rx7.com/cgi-local/2catalo...cat=4&part=300

Yeah, that is the main cat, not a muffler. What kind of a moron would weld it all together? Oh man, that put you up **** creek bro. Take it to a shop and see if they can fix it. That sucks man. If you can get it off the cat, them just have em do a custom job. Just use like a Dynomax mega-flow muffler or a flowmaster. Or you could plunk down the bigger bills and get a Apex or GReddy setup. Good luck.
