I just called up the mazda parts
Because a friend and I are trying to start up again our proejct that we started a while ago, and ran out of money to restore a 88 base we bought for 1k$
I need to get a new split-air valve solenoid, the one that was on the motor was burnt out...like it had an electrical fire
2 questions
1. is it a specific part or a common one that i can just replace with another solenoid,
2. would the parts department in the dealership be able to aquire a new one if it is a specific part?
i dont know much about electrical stuff, just know how to replace things if the old one had caught on fire
or...
3. i can just not worry about it since i live in florida and we dont have emissions?

-I'm pretty sure it's a specific part.
-If there are any left in Mazda's inventory I'm sure they'd sell it to you. If there aren't they wouldn't.
-Split air supply is fairly important for the NA FC's. First, it supplies fresh air to the cats so they don't melt and so your emissions are cleaner (second part not so important, screw Earth). Second, I think it is also part of the auxiliary port opening system, but you can modify that system to use other switching means than vacuum actuation.
