well, i really dont understand that one either... why offset the hood if your top mount is no longer functional??? i think it should have been centered.... but it still looks great anyways!

maybe it was designed like that so you can turn the scoop around... or replace it, so that you can still use the stock TMIC....
like the knight sports hood....

I'd like the hood if it had the stock scoop with the side vents. Like the knight sports hood.

its full carbon fiber..... (i think its a repro of the old r.e. amimeya hood... but not sure).... the main difference is the back of the hood has a flare which is vented (so no more ugly hood spacers...woohoo)..... i also got the carbon fiber cooling panel...... gorgeous.... you can see your reflection in it...... its polished very nicely!

tell me what you think.

Re: Water pouring on your alternator. Just make a little rain hat, a half moon shaped metal piece that goes over the alternator (spaced out maybe a half inch to allow air to flow through). It will deflect any rain down and around. It may sit on your engine block but shouldn't interfere with anything.

Re: Offset hood scoop. You are right, it's not meant for a TMIC and an offset scoop is unnecessary. My guess (guess!) is they pulled a mold off a stock TII hood and added the side vents.

In any case it is a little flashy for me BUT it is functional and I always like seeing a decently priced new product for the FC.

Viper, could you get some better (larger) pics of the hood for us? I'd like to know how close the hood gets to the edges of the fenders, hood and windshield. I understand that you're sponsored by them but if I'm spending $600-700 on a hood I want to inspect it as much as possible. Also, does the hood latch well or do you need hood pins?

thanks

Check out this link...this guy made rain guards that clip in and out for his knight sports FD hood. They look like some kind of plexi...I bet you could even go a step further than he did and get some kind of thin rubber seal on the outer edge.

that would be a great if if they have placed the large center vent 5" towards the front of the car that way it would be practical in that it would be the perfect egress vent for a V mount.. as it is, the way high press air shapes around the front of a car the vent may even end up drawing air into the engine bay.. which would create a static pressure area in the engine bay=more heat.. the only way to know forsure is if someone has a nastran, ansys.. ect. flow model of the FC ? anyone.

maybe I'm being **** about a hood but if it's going to cost close to $1000 by the time it lands on my door door step then I'd like it to add to my performance not subtract.. either way nice to see that someones stepping up to make a hood like that, kudos to them.

Yeah. I think that's his car. Atleast from what I can see. I would still like some good pics of how good of a fit it has.

well are you sure you can't just turn the same one around? it wouldn't look the same as in the knightsports one, but it may still work.... or have you tried it already?
