hello i just lost my girlfriend because my ******* car wouldn't start... it felt like the battery was dead and i just bought it 2 days ago. u could barely hear it trying to star and then it died of after only 2 times of trying to start it. my g/f's mom found out she was over my house instead of school and she is going crazy..**** i hate this ****.. her mom called my house and i had told everyone not to pick up if it was her mom except for my lil brother and guess what he ******* tells her me and her were in my house for over 3 hours and we just left ( in my mom's car ) ( my mom had to drop her at her house ) **** I feel like ****.. what the hell could be wrong ? the main fuse ???? the battery cables?? it has new spark plugs and wires.. what the HEL!!??? im so mad and sad and disspointed of myself!!!

 

How old are you and what have you checked on the car?

 

For one thing you can't let petty emmotions help you work on your car...that never works, typically it causes damage. If you were where you were supposed to she wouldn't have been an issue any way.

If the car is just barely turning over then you have a serious short or ground somewhere...something that's drawing a lot of amps...or your battery could suck. You got a new bat but did you get new terminals and such? Have you checked the immediate grounds aroung the battery? Have you checked the connection to the starter? If there was a problem with a fuse then it wouldn't work at all. Check all of your connections.

 

Get your alternotor tested....it might be bad so your battary would be drained.

 

make sure to check grounds. My car did the same think with a new battery. I would run off the alternator but wouldn't charge the battery.

if you have a light you can check if it's a short. The haynes manual shows how to do that.

Now don't get all worked up, this is not the end of the world. It's not like you're some "weirdo" who is a vegetarian or anything. You've had the car for two days? The battery's probably dead. I'd pull it and I'd go have it checked at an auto parts store, it may have sat for quite a while before you bought it. If the battery is good I'd check the alternator, then NEW Plugs and wires. Just cause the guy who sold it to you said it had new plugs and wires doesn't mean that it actually does. He might have seen you as an easy mark, and may have tricked you into buying a lemon.
Now about your girlfriend...tell her not to lie to her mother about her whereabouts. Honesty is the best policy. And don't beat yourself up about getting her home late, after all, she should have her own car anyways.

 

he has had the car for a long while now. He got a new battery becausehis old one was bad. He bought one with more amps than the previous one. I think his alternator is bad. Mine did this when my alt sent bad.


Check your alternator at the parts store. They will tell you if it is still good or not.

 

Alternator= 100-150 bucks which i don't have.
could it be the pullies or teh belts? i took of the a/c compressor ( i tried to anyways). I had to take out the two pullies on the Power stereeing ... you know by the right side of the battery.. next to the fuses.. I toook those pullies off!! did i install teh belt wrong ? shoudl teh pullies be tight as a 11 year old's u know what? or shoudl they be kinda loose liek my mom's u know what ...???

 

dude we dont need to know about your girlfriends and your moms you know whats. now listen to what people tell you to do and try that. if it dosent work come back to us and tell us then we will give you more suggestions. basicly everything that could go wrong with these car has gone wrong to someone on this forum so someone will know how to help you
