i hate my bov

i hate it. It's the hks ss it makes no noise all i can hear is my wastegate. Is the hks ss just not that loud? I love the Greddy type-s my friend has a bone stock gst all it has is the type s and his is loud as ****. Is it because it is a rotary engine or because the hks is just gayyyyyy.

if your wastegate is external vented it's loud as **** and no BOV will be louder. but they are at different times. you should hear the BOV between shifts. the wastegate noise happens when you on the gas in boost.

I cant say the same about mine, its loud as hell. Maybe you want to try backing out that little bolt on the back of the BOV, that may help.

LOL maybe what you think is the wastegate noise is the BOV LOL...

the wastegate will make noise while you are on the gas. the BOV makes noise when you let off.

Yea dude a wastegate sounds like someone just ripped of your exhaust off. Its not a hissing sound or anything like that.

RX7withNitrous, it is not your wastegate

It is compressor surge, it is the sound of air going back through the turbo. Basicly your BOV is not venting anything, or not 'enough'.

Do you have a nut on top of the bov? Try backing it off a bit.

there is a bolt on the back of it ya i don't want to unscrew it too much and have it come out. Is there a spring or anything that could fall out if i took it out too far?

Quite possibly the T04 was flowing to much air for the stock bov to vent.
