Well, the s4 and s5 trannys have teh mount in the same basic place, so thats not what it is. The one that isn't connected is the stock location for the FC tranny mount. It almost looks like your car used to have an auto tranny and that thing is the adapter braket to get it to mount up to the stock location used by the auto tranny. I've never done that myself so I'm not sure, but thats what it could be.
hahahh **** looks like mines lol. MY car was auto now its stick, but i can only do what i can lol.
Gotta reweld mines again.
And yes i do hate ghetto jobs, i found many on my car, not done by me.

yeah, ghetto jobs will get under your skin. that doesnt look that bad though. if it had zip ties and duct tape that would be adifferent story but the welds look pretty good and it doesnt seem like you had any problems with the trans so i guess in the end it wasnt too bad of a job. it still sucks that you had to find out in the manner that you did.

i think you may now have your answer. you can always run your vin at the dealer and they can tell you when the car was delivered and originally sold and what options it had and whatnot.
i already done that it was an n/a but the person that had it before me did everything i mean from full out interior swap even the wire harness under the dash to evrything on the engine also of course now i find out they even put in the pedals and clutch master cylinder but the work is all good everything works great it just confused the hell out of me when i saw that
