I guess I should expect the worst.

Story -

Saturday I ran some Seafoam through the car. Smoked out the neighborhood and all that good stuff. Made a huge difference, the car idle'd better and drove so much smoother on Sunday. Yesterday, Monday, I was at Hershey Park all day and didn't do anything with the car. This morning, I went to go pick up the girl to go in town.

I got in the car, and started it. It cranked over and fired once, made a "pop" noise, then shut off. I went to start it again, and now there is absolutely no compression at all when cranking.

Apex seals? Coolant seals? Either way I guess it's getting a rebuild cause I can't afford a reman from Mazdatrix, unfortunately.

Well, either way, where can I get a rebuild kit cheapest?

How do you know there's no compression? Did you do a compession test? I doubt that the engine is shot. A vac line probably popped of and caused the engine to die, which flooded it out.

It turns over very fast without any compression bumps, there is definitely something wrong inside. According to the overflow bottle, a coolant seal went because it looks like it has been extremely thirsty.

sounds like you blew a seal but do a compression test first.

Well, it turns out that it was flooded. VERY, VERY flooded. Plugs completely soaked, etc. etc.

Pulled the fuse, and plugs, cranked it, watched all of that expensive gas blow out the side, let it dry for a bit, then put humpty-dumpty back together. It fired, and ran, but soon after stalled, and when I went to start it again, it was flooded.

I haven't been able to get it started again, keeps flooding out before it starts, so I guess my injectors are pretty screwed.

I did a compression test while I was there and got about 80-90 psi on all 3 on both rotors. I guess that's alright, but whatever, can't expect too much out of 103K miles.

On that note, who sells injectors for a decent price?

Well, deflooded it completely, cleaned the plugs off pretty good, then took it for a ride.

The car is running 1000000% better than it ever has, idle is dead on with no missing or stumbling, rolls into boost real strong, AFR's are super good, except at idle. When I first started it, idle AFR was 14.2-14.3 which I was happy with, but after driving it, at idle it wasnted to run at 12.3-12.4. My guess is that an injector gets stuck and runs it rich like that.

What amazes me though, is that I was told that the fuel system is all stock, but at 13-14 pounds of boost, the AFR's are still in low-12 territory.... maybe it isn't as stock as I was told. This car is full of surprises.

You probably fouled your plugs with the seafoam/whatever that was floating around in the engine being burned...stock plugs foul VERY easily in the presence of gas or oil.

Then the fouled plug got cold and wouldn't fire through the rich mixture of fuel when you tried to restart it the next day, and the engine flooded.

You still need to replace your plugs, it's likely one will intermittently foul another day, so just go ahead and get it done now.
