i Got one now!!!

hey what's up everyone? i am proud to say that i am a new owner of an 88 rx7. i would put some pics up, but i think you know what one looks like. i picked it up for 3500 with only 100,000 miles on it and i was wondering if that was a good deal.
oh, and if you guys want to sell me some parts that would be cool too. oh and it's the cabriolet, forgot to mention that.

I got my previous RX-7, an '88 GXL with leather and all for $2k with 106k miles. I sold it over a year later with 146k, torn up seats, and a replacement fender for... $1900.

I'd say it was a fair deal if it is in great shape, glossy paint, good interior, no electrical issues or anything.

What color and interior is it? Pictures?

IS it an N/A? If so, I would say thats a pretty high price unless its in flawless condition inside and out.

the color is black and there is bairly anything wrong with the paint or the bodywork. the interior is super clean and nothing is wrong with the electrical and engine. oh, and it is the n/a

and that leads me to the next question: do any of you know where i could pick up a turbo kit for it? is there even one? i found some guy who will build a custom one for me, but it's gonna cost me an arm and a left nut. plus he lives 3 hours away from me.
actually, any kind of performance advise would help out a lot. thanx.

There is a sticky at the top of the 2nd gen forum that explains all this stuff. You've got alot of reading to do because these types of questions are asked and answered everyday.

They're just messing with you man. First, you payed too much. Second, you aren't going to be able to turbo it for a decent price. If you wanted turbo you should get a TII, not an N/A...its cheaper that way. Third, RX's often require alot of work...thats what the "endless repairs" comment was about. Enjoy the car, but IMHO don't even try to turbo it.

yeah, that's the same way mine is. everything works and, after reading that "beefing up your n/a" thread, is about to be taken out. the guy tring to sell the car was asking for $7000 and i worked him down to $3500, so i think that's pretty good for not knowing what i should have bought it for.

so does anybody want to hook me up with some parts?

$3,500 is not bad for a vert. Verts are generally a bit more expensive than even S4 TII's.
