I got my n/a to TII conversion running.

I got the car running today, it sounds nice. I ran into a little problem, I forgot to tighten down the exhaust so it is leaking a little off the turbo. Only other problen is that it dies when you give it any throttle and it is only running at 9.8 volts. I dont know what that is all about.

Is the alternator plugged in properly? Is the belt on the alternator tight? Was your gauge working properly before?

Ya, the alternator belt is tight. I could have sworn that the car was chargeing at 13 volts before...

Perhaps it may have just crapped out on you if it's running at 9.8 volts.

Get one from Silverroter before you lose the chance. He's quitting May 1st and those are killer alternators. If your's isn't bad now it will be in the near future. I have one of his, they are gorgeous and put out a lot more than the stock ones. Straight bolt-on, no re-wiring needed except a little plug change if yours is an 86-88.

your alt should be putting out in between 13.8 and 14.3, if its lower than that, the batt isnt being charged.

I tried 3 of the 4 batteries I currently own, they are all good also. The car will idle for about 35-40mins then crap out on me.

did you check the alt with a voltmeter? if you have a digital one like mine its the V DC setting... - (black) goes to the alt and + (red) on the battery + terminal.
