I get a BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP anytime the key is on, what is it trying to tell me?
Well just like the title says, anytime i turn the key on in my 87 NA, i get this long never ending BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP. It is not the low coolent buzzer but a beep. I can not get it to stop no matter what, no idea what it is trying to tell me.
No codes in the ECU, everythign works great except the temp gauge, and fuel level gauge (well not filled up the gas tank yet so that might work but not sure).
Otherwise everything appears to be fine so i am lost as to what the problem is.
Any ideas? Also any ideas on the temp gauge not working? These are the last issues before this car is ready to rok again!

someone just posted the same issues as you. For his case he said it was the relay for the powersteering pump. Do you have powersteering? If not then it would be a different issue.
If you do then try pulling out the 10A fuse for the ps. He said that would stop the beep. So he replaced the ps relay and the beep went away. good luck.....
look at the post titled p/s issue......just scroll down some.....

Yep, thats pretty much it.
Whats wrong with the temp gauge? The sender? I already ordered 1, just waiting on it to get in but if that doesn't fix it what else could it be?
And could this beep be from that? My old car alsy had a broken sender (as in the sender was litterally broken in half) when i first got it and i didn't get a beep from it.

if you think it's the key reminder switch; just get some graphite key lube and wiggle the key back and forth to see if it'll unlock the tumblers inside the ign. switch. Sometimes it gets stuck.

Should be four plugs connected to the ignition switch. The "start plug" is a single wire and is Black/Red in color. A second plug houses the accessory and IG2 and thus has a Blue wire and a Black/Red wire. A third plug has the battery wire (Black) and IG1 which is Black/White. The fourth plug is the key reminder plug.

Ah, ok, i found that, didn't change a thing. Started really listning to where the beep was coming from and turns out that it was the Power steering computer like was said above. So unpluged that and it stopped! finally peace and quite!
Hopfully once i re hook the PS back up it will work fine, if not i will just have to get a new ECU.
Thanks for the help!
Now just got to doa few last little tune up things, and it is ready to hit the open road again.

I don't think it's the key reminder.....just thinking back; my 7 used to beep after I pulled my key out. That's when I used to play with the key in the ignition switch. Wiggled it around and pulled out the key and the beep stopped.
You said you get a beep when you turn on the ignition......I think it's something else. good luck
oh just read your last post. glad you found the issue......
