wow...that kinda sucks...no offense. Your reaction time was....errr.... you know the green means go right? Your 60' time wasnt *that* bad to warrant a 16.9 1/4 time. Did you miss any gears or anything?? What rpms were you shifting at?? What kinda car too?

PS: I stay away from drags and fuel mileage calculations.

What year/miles? I'm assuming 86-88.

What is this "midpipe and exhaust" ****?

Get AT LEAST headers for improved flow. Cat-back does **** w/o headers .

if you really had a good free-flowing exhaust you should be running like looow 16s.

But whatever, as long as it *feels* fast enough for you and you're happy then it's all good

i got a 91 na.

The reason im not getting headers is im working on a turbo conversion, and would rather not spend $200 on something i know im going to get rid of that i dont need.

i have around 40k miles on my engine, but im running real rich. im talking about...smoke coming out of the back at idle rich...8mpg rich...$20 worth of gas for 100 - 150 miles + dragging

Its hard to start, running rich, and idles weird sometimes and im thinking my new plugs are fouled already and im linking it to my new fuel pump.

Is there any way my walbro can be making me run extremely rich on stock injectors?

Thanks

Sounds like you need a tune-up desperately. I'm running in the low-mid 15's right now and mine is an 89-91 just like yours....

Oh, BTW the 89-91 ones ran 16.00000 stock

Pull that Walboro back out and put a stock pump in it until you put a turbo on it.

ya what he said, that is most likely your problem. you don't need the extra flow of fuel unless your running boost on an n/a. and you should get back to normal 200-250 mpg again! oh and by the way

HAHAHA, the only way that would insult me is if i was TRYING for a 16.9.

reason for the pump is for when im boostin later. Im thinking about just getting an SAFC to lean it out cuz puttin that other pump back in is gonna be a bitch (rewiring it )

Lemme ask you guys 1 more question, To help my problem do you think that a fuel pressure regulator would be better, or the SAFC to control all around rich conditions?

most FPRs only attach to the stock regulator, and as such can only raise the fuel pressure, not drop it... (speaking from honda knowledge here... ) ....unless you find one that replaces the stick one....

Ya that would be it. You need to lean your car out. You have an NA so its safer to run leaner anyways. Your car didn't need any extra fuel at all anyways with your mods. Oh and you have the same walbro that is an upgrade to a TII's stock pump, right? Damn you have got to be running super rich. Go buy yourself a s-afc and if tuned right you should be down in the high 15s at least I would think.

ya an s-afc is your best bet, an fpr will only raise fuel pressure unless you replace the whole unit and then if your not running the stock preassure you won't runn right at all. i still say put the stock pump back in until ya go turbo then swap back. it may be a bi$#h but it will solve your problems.

I dunno what the big deal is.&nbsp Your time is pretty respectable considering this is your first time.&nbsp It's an NA - these things normally do mid 16's anyways at the track, no matter what everyone else claims.&nbsp Please, I don't want to get into an argument about magazine track times.

Yea but that is a stock time. He has almost a grand into his car for performance and is slower than stock. His 60' time could go down some but prolly not too much. Hes over a full second off what other people get.

Oh and do you have your precats still? If so buy a "DP."

Ok... hang on a sec. If you have replaced the cat, you may not be getting your 6-ports to open. Yes, the airpump does it... but I think it still requires backpressure from the air tube to the cat.

Also, the Walbro WILL make you run rich on a relatively stock car.

alrite, i replaced my new walbro with the stock pump. I no longer am flooding my engine and having hard starts. The only problem that remains is jumpy idle (1000-1200) and a huge hesitation at around 4500-5500. it sounds like (wow-bwa-wow-bwa-wow-bwa-wow-bwa) like a dryer

Im thinking my plugs are fouled. I took out my leading wires and my trailing wires, still starts up and idles (doesnt die or anything)

my trailing wire #1 had a lot of corrosion on the igniter just so u know.

------ im still running my precats
