I could use some advise on muffler selection
Hello. I desperately need to build a new exhaust for my car, as right now it is way too loud. Currently, I have a RB header (collected, I put in a O2 bung with Manolis_d's help), I removed the precat since it was burned up, I have the stock cat there, everything else back from that is stock.
My motor has a Turbo intermediate housing and Turbo rotor housing. There are also a LOT of leaks all over the place, so it louder than hell.
EDIT: My car is NA! sorry I didnt make that clear, is an NA engine with those parts in it.
I am going to put the stock exahust manifold back on, and then I'm going to put in 2.5" mild steel piping all the way back, singled sided, with a$90 cat from the local exahust shop. I need some help deciding what kind of muffler to use. I was thinking of using an HKS muffler w/ 60mm pipe and 96mm tip. Does that sound right? I'd like to really REALLY quiet down the exahust, I don't want it to be loud.
Thanks!
Andrew

Dynomax Ultra Flo Round. 2.5" in/out. $66 for the steel, $100 for the stainless steel. use that with the Dynomax Ultra flo Cat. $280 only comes in stainless. Sounds incredible. much power. not expensive. I have mine wiht a custom mandrel stainless pipe. If you want the mandrel. I bought 1 "J" pipe and a 45 degree pipe, with a 5 foot straight pipe. you will need to go to a compitent shop that can welt stainless. total cost of my stainless catback $250 with labor to put it together.
