I blew an APEX seal!!! bummer...

well as some of you may know i blew what i thought was an apex seal wed doin 35mph in 3rd gear in my 87 GXL.. well i confermed it last night with a mirror, shop light and looking at the seals through the plug hole... so my blown motor (rear housing only) and my N/A trans is now FS best offer...

I am now goin J-spec and i need lots of advice.... what i need to get adn any leads on getting it and what not... i already have a 87 TII ECU so i neeed the motor and wireing harness.... i am planning on getting a S5 J-spec motor so how would i make that work? could i use S4 TII intake manifolds on it? i need leads guys b/c i am now lost and i know i need lots of parts... so thanks for all the help that will be coming in... Dave

your thinking in the right direction....
I got an s5 jspec and have it in my 87TII. I just used the s4 harness/ecu/manifolds/front cover (to use the mechanical OMP, premix sucks)
so.... if you have an 87 NA that means you still need...
- TII OMP lines (front cover and OMP should be the same, not sure on the bar that links it to TB)
-s4 TII manifolds and TB
-s4 TII harness and sensors (some could probably be used from jspec, but ones like the pressure sensor are not interchangable)
- TII tranny, driveshaft, rear, halfshafts
looks like you got a lot of work ahead of you
I think that i covered most of your needs

Talk to hypntyz7. He can hook you up with the ENTIRE TII drive train for like $1500, as well as any other part you could possibly need. I know when I go throughthis, I am buyin from him!

ya i was told it was carbon buildup.... like a piece broke off and hit the apex-seal or something... but i did the ATF trick and then only put 11miles on the car for the motor to blow... WTF???? well any way i am goin turbo now so it shouldnt be that bad.... Dave
