I wouldn't use that. I dont' know what the stop leak will do. just find some plain ATF.

It seems to me that the stop-leak would be some sort of coagulant that may gum up the engine, but chances are the heat would burn it all out. No sense taking risks, though.

Huh????

I am not sure I understand what all this question is about, so forgive me if I am in the dark here.

Stop leak is for the cooling system only. It is designed to contain microscopic solids that will eventually fill and plug up a leak. It works the same way as your own blood does when you cut yourself.

ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) is used on this forum to soak the seals on the rotor to soften and remove carbon build-up. It is inserted into the engine through a spark plug hole or through the throttle body.

One thing to beware of here, if you pour in enough ATF you might run the risk of what is called a hydraulic lock. This happens when the ATF or other liquid fills the area between the rotor and rotor housing and the engine is then cranked over. The rotor tries to compress the liquid like it was air and since liquid can't compress the engine locks up. Be sure you remove a spark plug and preferably rotate the engine over by hand before you try to use the starter.
