Smile I am about to join the FC crowd!

Hey guys,

monday i am going to drop in the motor i just built for my 1990 vert. I bought her with an overheated motor back last september after i redeployed back from Iraq and have just recently found the time to get her back up and running. The previous owner did not tighten a hose clamp down properly and had a heater hose blow on him. When i tore down the motor, found that the coolant o rings in the rear iron were shot, rear rotor was insanely rusted, and the rear rotor housing was warped. I was able to salvage the rotor after extensive cleaning........I was finally able to get the side and corner seals unstuck with liberal use of PB Blast.

The hardest part for me was getting the damn 5 and 6 ports unstuck. I have never seen so much carbon buildup as I have seen in the intake ports on that intermediate housing. I decided against porting. Going to keep her stock, the red one is enough of a headache for me most of the time, lol.

Well, just thought I would share. I'm pretty psyched at the prospect of having a reliable daily driver rx with an engine that will last

Best of luck Rich........ A whole new can of worms as these cars are rather old. But once sorted out, the maintenance should be light.
