Hybrid Turbocharger problem

Hi guys, just got my digital camera from my mom and I took some shots of my hotside of my hybrid

infos : hybrid turbo, probably a t04b or e, dunno...
almost no side to side shaft play and 0 in and out
no bent fins or whatever apparent on the wheels

my problem :

I looked at the hotside inlet a week ago and i found small amount of oil weeping from the inside of the turbo...

I tried to remove the hotside to port the wastegate but it seems to be stuck there... No worry I was careful to not do anything that would bend the shaft or mess with the wheels.

So does it seems like a case for a rebuild? if yes, Do I need a full rebuild or just replacing oil seals will be allright? Is it possible that trying to remve the hotside housing caused this pretty shitty situation?

thanks a lot guys...

probably need an oil restrictor... most likely you have a T3 center section...

Our stock turbos have a restrictor pill built in... if the oil going into the turbo is to high of pressure, it will leak past the bearing and you'll get oil in the intakes pipes and in to the housing and exhaust like you have... (check your IC pipes.. bet you got oil in them too) When i got my BNR, bryan used a Garret center section instead of my stock one, it didnt have a restrictor in it and it smoke like hell.. I got one of these and it's been a good boy ever since!

I got mine at ATPTURBO.com
http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=OIL
about 3/4 of the way down in the right column... "oil restrictor for T series"

well I haven't actually installed this turbo so is it normal to have oil weep out, cuz it's got no oil pressure inside since a long time! I bought it used, but I know the guy and he told me that this thing boosted strong!

and yeah, how do you install those

Ohhh.. i thought you had it on the car and it was running and it was blowing oil all over the place....... its probably OK... the bearings leak... they just leak more if you have higher oil pressure!!!!!

If its a stock center section... it should have the oil restrictor in it.... post a pic of the top side of the center section of that turbo

I'll post a pic tonight of my setup,

but they thread into the top of the center section.....

well, this is the only picture I have for the moment of the entire turbo...

Im pretty sure you won't be able to tell ****, but let's see if you think its a stock center section

but from what I was with my old turbo, those were the same!

hybrid in front, old one in the back

of course it does look black simply because it is black! hehehehe

what the f**k was wrong down there?

the shaft is kinda hard to spin...

the exhaust wheel is also chipped, but my compression is REALLY GOOD and I inspected my apexes and they are all nice

Do I have to inspect anything before I hook up my new turbo? is there anything wrong that I might not think about?

of course man!

but what would cause this? beside a chipped apex or something ( compression almost perfect )

my new turbo has a perfect exhaust wheel

but consider the fact that my new turbo leak oil a little, and that it hasn't been pressurized, would you consider rebuild?

do I need to replace just the oil seal?

even if it's supposed to have a restriction pill built in, is it possible for it to fail?

in order to use the restriction pill, we have to take the turbo apart?

from what I've heard, our stock turbos have a restriction pill built in...

if you use external restriction pills, you only have to screw them onto the center section, at least, that's what I understood
