Hybrid Turbo?

Am I correct in saying a hybrid turbo is one that will bolt up to the stock manifolds? I was looking for the cheapest way to do some sort of upgraded turbo, and i've read that some people have hybrids but are only using S-AFCs and not any engine management, and the stock TMIC. I have an a'pexi intake, rb 3" turboback, walbro pump, and a s-afc, could i get one of the lower hybrid turbo models and use the stock intercooler and s-afc to tune it by only getting new injectors for added fuel? What else would be required, and what are some good places for hybrid turbos?

What stage turbo would I be able to go to before needing to get a FMIC or an engine management system for it?

U can use the stage 4 w/ the tmic and s-afc, my friend SpeedyRotary does and his car runs fine. A FMIC would be better though.

I think at about Stage 3 you will definitely want a FMIC, and probably look towards a Haltech or Microtech and most definitely @ stage 4 you would want to have both just so you can really control that turbo and really run in the sweet spot of the turbo.
