hunting idle

hunting idle

i replaced my tps to try and solve my hunting idle (bounces from 800 to 1100 rpms at idle) this didnt solve my problem but did fix the check engine light. does anyone have any answers of what it could be thats causing this?

Hunting idle can be usually be cured by correct TPS and idle speed setting. You replaced the TPS. Did you go back and insure it's correct adjustment? Then, once you're sure of that, set the idle speed to 750.

i did get the tps from an engine from an automatic car, does this make a difference? they seemed to be a little different.

adjust the idle speed by loosening the nut and turning the screw?
