HUGE Oil leak

I fire up the engine...... i get out to go get something and notice an incredibly large oil leak. I shut the car down, get a drop light, and look. I think its one of the housings but i dont know which. Furthest back i would assume (by the oil filter on a N/A 13B) right after it says mazda its on the "a" of "mazda". wondering A) What part do I need? B) Price Range C) Difficulty level and D) does anybody have one for sale?

All help will be greatly appreciated on this one!

Thanks!

I hope you shut down the car...

I am guessing you blew an oil cooler line...VERY common....search and you will uncover what you need to know.

i think i cracked one of the housings by driving through a deep puddle too fast. cold water+hot metal=never good. if it were the line though that would be pretty sweet

Hydrolocked?
What happened???

It sounds like maybe the o-rings on the oil filter pedestal failed?
Maybe the oil filter (seal) itself failed?

i saw the leak and i swear its coming from one of the housings. I believe it is the one furthest back. There is a hairline crack where it says "mazda" right next to the "a" in mazda. It would appear that this is where the oil is leaking from. Is this called the rear housing?
