Question HP/Mods

I recently purchased a 89 Turbo II to convert over my 88 vert. I would like to have roughly 250-300 rwhp when it is all said and done. But before I get started, I would like a direction to be headed in so I can do some research. Just wondering who is putting down that kind of HP at the wheels and what mods do you have?

you worded that a bit confusing. "convert", or "replace"? there is a difference! are you droping the 89 T2 engine into the vert? (converting) or replacing the vert with the turbo II

250rwhp is pretty easy, and can be done on the stock turbo. for 300 you'll need a trubo upgrade.

for 250, full exhaust, intake, biger fuel pump. bigger secondary injectors, boost controller at around 12psi. a fuel controller like an apexi S-AFC, and lastly a FMIC would be highly recommended.

for 300 add a turbo upgrade, you can just get a bigger compresser wheel on the stock turbo. FMIC is a must. haltech recommanded but you could probably do it with the S-afc. might need bigger primarys here too.

Sorry. Didn't mean to make that confusing. I meant convert as I'm keeping the convertible. Thanks for the info. I'd like to stay away from the standalone ecu's, if possible, because of their cost. But if I need one to do it right, then I will.

well if you're droping the 89 engine into your 88 vert. it would be MUCH easier to just go with the haltech. other wise you are going to have a fun time with wires (can you fit under the dash? ) the swap is much easier into a 89-91 vert.

No, I won't exactly fit under the dash. But I do need a new carpet so I could remove the dash and do a two for one special. or depending on how you want to look at it. Nice little web site BTW.
