Putting aside the racist remarks,

If I buy an APEXI SAFC II, will I still need to port the wastegate?

Then why did you ask for an explanation? And no need to resort to name calling here.

They're not. They're making the claims from the added boost level that can be achieved with freeer flowing exhaust. Is it quite 60? Probably not.

I'd recomend reading up in the single turbo section. There's a lot of really good info in there.....much of it can't be directly applied to the stock setup though. But it DOES give you an excellent understanding of the whole theory of operation - which can be applied to the stock setup.

I was making more of a statement of how what they advertise is somewhat misleading.

I agree. But they mnake it sound like you slap on the exhaust and you gain 60hp without touching anything else.

Where is my remark smart-***? Where I said obviously not?

"Ever hear of the reason behind why people port their wastegates? Obviously not."
Yes, that sounds smart *** to me

Which is why I said I took it a bit over the top. Ive had a bad day and jumped on you. That was my mistake. And as far as the Canadians being freindly. From my personal experiance, the majority I have known or talked to have mostly been smart asses with an attitude that they are superior to everyone else. So sorry if I offended

No, the solution is many things. One of which could simply be drive the car and be very careful. Watch your boost level when you're on it and keep a close eye on temps. etc.

The ideal situation is to install an FCD (to allow you to utilize the mods youjust made) a good fuel pump, some fuel control and port the wastegate. Then you'll be able to wind the turbo up to a good 10-12 pounds and not worry about it.

And FWIW, porting the wastegate is cake. Tasty cake.

Looks like a question to me. Also looks like someone who obviously doesn't (or didn't appear at that time) have an understanding of boost creep. Don't post a question and expect me to read your mind.

Yeahhuh which is why I stated that their claim is not the case. Marketing is a vicious tool.

I've met idiotic Americans. Did I have to stoop to the level of calling you a retarded American for askinga question? No. Do I think you're a retarded American, or dislike American's because of a few idiots? No.

Relax. Its the internet. Thanks for the apology, sorry about your day.

With exhaust and intake gains, it is really based upon a percentage.

Is 60 HP from just adding an exhaust to a Turbo realistic? At the flywheel? yes if appropriate changes have been made to support the change.

Lets look at an example. Stock RWHP on a well running S4 turbo is around 140-145. Adding a 60 HP increase at the flywheel, the RWHP would be around 190.

190 RWHP on a Turbo is about right for a free flowing exhaust system and increased boost levels associated with the free'r flowing exhaust.

On a 180 HP (if the car was really making that) it is entirely reasonable to expect a 30% gain in power with an exhaust and re-aligned boost.

Now is that extra power is reliable??? well that is another question entirely.

Thats what I meant. How can they advertise a power gain when its mostly from boost creep. Of course it free flowing helps with SOME power, but alot of the 60hp they advertise has to come from boost creep. Not that I care how they advertise, I will be buying one shortly
