how well does mine compare

ok, I have an 88 convertible, now it's bone stock. Compression is in the low to mid six's and my shifter is sloppy as hell. I am going to get bushings soon though so I know that much. Problem is one of my friends is getting a 95 Integra GSR, I know that I can own him in any course with turns but what about the straight line? I am not a big fan of Honda/Acura or and FWD car so I don't know that much about it. Your replies will be appreciated greatly.

PS. I am looking at Cold Air Intakes, any suggestions?

Lets see, his car weighs almost 600lbs lighter than yours, and has more power. You can guess the results. And what makes you think you can beat him in the turns?

gsr's handle great i used to drive one every day, so he'd give you a run for your money in the turns especialkly since your chassy is less rigid since it has no roof, hard top NA only runs low 16s stock and the vert wieghs more, a gsr runs low 15s stock it has 20 more hp, it'll be hard to beat him if possible i beat one at my track i ran a 15.2 againts one, but i was luck he messed up lol. a gsr with inbtake header and exhaust will be well into the 14s, very hard to get there with a na rx7

I'm gonna agree. I drive a '90 GTU with mild street port, downpipe, Bonez cat, and Borla exhaust. With fresh plugs, I can just about keep up with my fiancee's '01 Integra GSR. There may be a little more grip and a little less body roll in my car in the turns, but I'd guess you're gonna give up any advantages with the less rigid, heavier 'vert body.
