How to tell a S4 TII differential is good?
How to tell a S4 TII differential is good?
Well the chassis i pulled the diff from has 215,xxx miles, both rear tires showed equal wear and were bald.
I called mazdatrix to order there rear TII flange for my NA mazdatrix driveshaft (rebuild able) i got a couple months ago. I asked if there was specific tq specs to "break" the clutches by locking one side and using a torque wrench on the other, he said it was in the FSM. I looked in all the S4 year FSM's and anything that hinted rear end specs on foxed.ca/rx7manual, just assembly tq specs...
I just have to make a piece of flat bar and drill the two output to axle bolt holes since there isn't anything to grab on to in the center for a accurate reading. I heard anything from 60-80 ft lbs is plenty but im not totally sure. I could just rebuild it but i would rather not if i don't have to.
Any input would be appreciated.
