How to tell if its a GTU
Is there any way to tell if a RX-7 is actually what the person or stickeer says it is? I heard people say that the GTU's dont' have ac's and stuff like that, but mine does. So i was wondering if one of the people that owned it before me just slaped a GTU sticker on it. I remember looking it up on carfax but I didn't really pay attention to what model it said. Would that be one way to tell what model it is? Any help would be great.
Thanks

What year is it?I'm not sure how to tell.I recently looked my car up on carfax and don't recall it telling me the trim level just that it was n/a.I believe you could get A/C on any of them.

Look at your brakes.Check to see if the fronts are four piston or single piston cailipers.I think the GTU for that year had the single piston ones. The GTUs and the GXL had the good brakes as did the TII.Unfortunately the GTU became the base model in '89 making the GXL or the GTUs the one to have in n/a trim(with the GTUs being best).In'88 the GTU was the one to have but starting in '89 it didn't get the good stuff.Sorry
