How stiff are the KYB AGXs?

Hey all... I've decided to go with the KYB AGXs with the Eibach Pro-Kits... for those who have this setup, how stiff is the ride?

if you have the shock/struts on the softest setting(1), then its not bad at all. its a firm, yet not harsh at all ride. however, if you set them on the stiffest setting, its incredibly stiff, and on the streets in boulder pretty unbearable to drive around. of course, our roads are the worst roads I've EVER seen.

I think for a shock/spring set up, this is a pretty good set up. sometimes I think I'd rather have a linear rate spring, but I've never really noticed the progressive rate on the eibachs anyway.

a linear spring rate would make for an even worse ride...the progressives are great for a street car w/ poor roads bc they aren't too stiff untol they are loaded in the corners. AGX and eibach combo is a very nice setup...I would actually recommend ground control coilover sleeves and the 2.5 inch eibach race springs they offer...sure, the eibachs in that kit are linear but are available in MANY MANY different rates. this way you have some height adjustability AND damping adjustablility. call ground control, they are really helpful and experienced. my setup is GC coilover conversion, KYB's, Tein pillow ball mounts but the rates I choose were fairly stiff

the stiffest setting is just stupid on bad roads. they knocked out some of my tooth fillings. but i have the coilovers with 350#'s up front and 300# in the rear.

ive got kyb agx's with stocker springs for now...running the shocks on 75% stiffness and its bearable and pretty nice. next upgrade was gonna be springs...but my oem's seem to be in pretty good condition, so the eibach pro's will be the second to next upgrade after the header/presilencer

edit: however...yes they will knock your fillings out on bad roads, even with oem springs. i know my area and avoid the bad roads

They are easy to adjust. You can easily set them hard for some fun driving or soft, for a night on the town. Most women don't care for the harsh ride, so that adjustability comes in handy.

Hmmm...I think I've just found my next set of dampers ! Hey fastrotaries...where did you get the springs from with those rates??? Are they progressive or are they linear? Also how much were the springs and sleeves? Very very curious .

it's the K2RD kit, but you can get ANY spring rate combo from www.ground-control.com and you can choose different manufacturers of springs. Mine are linear, but i'll be damned if i can tell the difference. ground control also sells the sleeves. the K2rd kit is just nice because it's already made for the FC.

yes, I know. I just meant for the racing aspect... I've heard progressive rate springs can make handleing unpredictable sometimes. I have not, however, experienced any of these problems... yet.

bigretardhead, i've heard the same, but one of my friends who used to auto-x quite a bit is using the kyb agx + eibach pro's in his ride, so i guess if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me, hehehe
