How should I start?

I have a 1987 SE. I was thinking on saving up and find either a rotary 3 engine or a third gen twin turbo engine. But I was thinking.....if I do find a rotary 3 engine....will it just drop in or would I need custom mounts? Also, what kind of modifications should I do to my non turbo engine for now?

Check the 20b section if you want to do a 3rotor. Also ask Reese (20b10thAE).

I'm assuming you mean 3 rotor...

As far as upgrading your N/A, without opening up the engine, basically intake/exhaust.

I too would check the 20b section. Also plan on something like 10k for a 20b(3 rotor) swap. Requires custom mounts, stand alone ECU, etc. Most seem to think the 13b-rew swap from the 3rg gen isn't worth the hassle. Easiest swap would be a turbo swap from a 87-88 TII.

^^^what he said plus If your modding the current 13b N/A- for intake some kind of cold air style, for exhaust header, high flow cat or strait pipe and single catback for weight savings and nice power gains- corksport makes a nice one for around $280
