Arrow How to repair arm rest - best way?

This has been bothering me for sometime now so I decided to take a part the door skin to Identify the problem. The factory glue has let loose and the Insulation has swollen. Whats the best way (or adhesive) to use to get this repaired?

Don't mind my potbellied statue. I needed something Inplace to keep the armrest standing. ;0

I would use contact cement. Paint it in liberally using a 3/4 " paintbrush. Use a nice flat piece of wood on the top surface of the armrest and pull the bulge flat with a clamp. Make sure that you are squeezing contact cement into all the surfaces in there. Back off the clamp and let the cement dry, probably about 20 min. Then reclamp the top surface flat with the wood and clamp. Hold it that way overnight, Viola! it is done.

BTW, I successfully used Contact cement to rebuild the broken foam in my vert seats when I reupholstered. I used the cement to repair the splits in the bolsters. I then lined the foam 'pockets' with 2 plies of burlap layed on at a 45* angle from each other with contact cement. Over a year later, they still look and work great.

Good luck.

I would find a replacement set, since these are pretty easy to detach from the door panels themselves.
