Unhappy how to readjust the BAC screw

I just bought new RC 550cc secondary and primary injectors to replace my old ones. I installed them and the car ran and idled better than it did before, but it would still die on me after it had warmed up and idled at normal temperature for a while. So I looked up in my Hanes repair manual how to adjust the idle, well I adjusted the BAC screw like the instructions in Hanes and a online instructions guide I had found told me to do, big mistake apparently. Now the car wont idle at all. What it will do is it will rev up to 3000rpm for a normal cold start then immediately drop to 500 and kill. before I messed with this it would at least run for a while before dieing. The car does however only have 40psi compression on the rear rotor and the front rotor is good, I know that it needs a rebuild soon but it did idle better before I messed with that screw regardless of that. I looked it up afterwards on here and found out that it is the "$1000 screw of death" basically, which if that’s the case, I cant imagine the book even mentioning to touch it. So the way I look at it is there must be some way to fix it, if not would buying a used one from a junkyard work? Now I definitely know not to touch that thing again. Thanks for your help, Rotary Ronin.
