How Much Spent Vs. How much worth

You see the title. How much have you guys spent on your cars(not including regular maitnance) compared to how much there worth in your area.

Im in the process of building my 87 t2

As of now:
I paid 2500 for the car running in 2001 2500
13B Shortblock rebuild 1200
Streetport 300
Apexi SAFC2 300
RP Comp Fuel Pump 260
Tri Pearl Yellow Paint 500 (Paint myself! saved alot)
20mm Wide Fenders 400

Engine isnt back yet, and im waiting to see if im going to buy this used hybrid or get a new one from rx7store Stage 1 hybrid to4 600

So Im over 6 grand and there still no motor in the car and still sittin in the drive way probably the way it sits worth about 800 bucks LOL but all those parts were JUST purchased, im on waiting list for my motor .

I've spent $6000 or so (counting purchase, rebuild, upgrades), and I don't think I could get more than $2500 out of it.

$1200, i've spent $500 for my 88 turbo II nice condition not running, new clutch $100, kumho ecsta tires $333, custom intake $50, ssautochrome turbo back exhaust $200, and a few other various things (fuel pump switch). I was offered $3k, i believe almost any T2 running in atleast okay condition sold on ebay would get up to $2000. you guys think mods lower the value?

I rather have a stock TII then a modded. Most cars that have been modified have been beat to **** or most likely owned buy a kid. Or just the speculation goes.

I have a 88 gxl put 350 into safc about another 350 into the turbo kit got a kick *** deal on the kit and built the rest myself 800 on wheels and tires 75 into exaust 500 for the car 500 for the nitrous. and 250 for the stero. and 200 for the intake so about maybe a little more than 3000 and its only worth less than half of that.

Got the 'vert for 3k, spent about 2500 on turbo trans, torsen rear end, chromoly f/w, hd pp, stock turbo clutch disc, axles & driveshaft, starter and about 1k getting all the "incedentals" in order (cracked interior plastic, bad switches, a/c r134a conversion, ect.) so 6500 spent, and I am sure she is worth less than that (I have seen 88 verts go for ~$2500)

But I am going to swap a turbo motor in soon, and will not part with this car (I will be buried in it)

I've got about 2000 - 2500 into my car at this point and if i were to sell it i'd get back every cent if not more. rx7 are rare around here and anyone that knows about one is always asking all kinds of questions, mostly "thats got one of those rotary engines in it, right?"

I figure I got over 10 and almost 15 in it by the time I get the big single setup installed and tuned. Will I ever get 15k for it in resale, no. But where can you buy a convertible that handles and will have 400-500 rwhp for 15k? I would bet if it was forsale you could get 8-10k for the turbo vert.
