How much smoke should i be putting out?

I just got my downpipe / presilencer on and it seems when i get in the hight RPM it puts out alot more smoke than i expected. Maybe im running too rich?

The only times when mine smoked was when I just filled the tranny back up (probably overfilled a bit) and it started to smoke, but that was from the transmission fluid leaking onto the outside of the exhaust.

I've never had exhaust smoke. If it's white you may be getting coolant into the combustion chamber, if it's blue it's (excess) oil in there.

What color of smoke is it? White and sweet-smelling is coolant, gray to black is oil. Both require a rebuild to fix, but you can still run them for a while if the smoking isn't bad. If it smoke at high-rpm's my guess is that its oil. This isn't too serious and you can run the engine for a while longer as long as you make sure to keep the oil topped off.

There should be NO SMOKE coming out of the engine or exhaust.
Slight smoking is an indication of a tired motor.
LOTS of smoke is BAD.

my car gets LOTS of thick thick smoke in the morning, (or any 8 hour parking). Like. smoke so thick(looks a little white if u ask me), you cant see your foot if u put it close enough to my muffler. then it dies down, looks blueish... grayish... then it dont somke at all unless i push it to 8,000 rpm.

I run premix, carb, and a dizzy. I don't know whats wrong, but i suspect a oil seal somewhere in there starting to leak as i had lost half a quart of oil, since oil change. and i also lost about 1 cup of antifreeze... HMmmm.... oh well winter is here soon.

You're not supposed to be smoking, even with premix.
