How much should a tranny cost?

Hi-

I was wondering; I am looking for a tranny for my 86 NA. I have found several offers on prices. One of them was an offer for a tranny with 104K, with good shift bushings, and shipping for 250. The other was for 450, with more miles on the tranny, and shipping. Why such the difference? Also, can I put a TII tranny in my car? And, if I can, how will affect the car?

So your current transmission is bad or just needs a minor rebuild?

I wouldnt pay more than $250 for a N/A tranny.

My current tranny is BROKE ! I lost ever gear, including reverse, in less than a 10 mile period ! First I lost 4th (it wouldnt stay in, kept kicking out). Then second, then 5th, then 1st, and I made it the last 5 miles in 3rd, lost that finding a place to park. Began to back up to a nearby spot..lost reverse.
