It depends on the area which you live, The condition of the body, interior, brakes, suspension, tires, the year, and which model. What transmission does it have? N/A or a slushbox? I bought one for $500 and another one for $200. The $200 car was a series 4 which had 4 piston brakes, the LSD rear axle and a low milage Mazda remanufactured engine. The body was bad on that car. The $500 car was a series 5 that had 119,000 miles, a blown engine and a perfect interior.

Jesus man, I gotta move to Missouri.. you got it made....

Bought a shell with good paint and interior (although not a PERFECT interior) for $800 without an engine, tranny or exhaust. Using my other car that was in an accident to donate the engine, tranny and lots of other parts. Using an aftermarket catback instead of the stock one.

Don't get me wrong. The $500 S5 had a few small problems. Bad paint is one of them. The S4 was perfectly rinning and drivable. I drove the car off and on for a year. My friend bought it for $500 and we tore the hell out of it. The rest of the car was crap except for the parts I pulled off. The FC is not very common around here either. Once I did see an older woman driving a GTUs model. She took it to a service garage for somthing.
