How much to rebuild w/ streetport?

I'm having a bit of a blue smoke problem - did a search on that and I have some symptoms that aren't looking too good. When I accelerate hard I'll get puffs of blue in between shifts. Also, when I come up to a light and push the clutch in to stop as soon as the idle comes down a couple seconds later I see more blue smoke for about 2-3 seconds. Doesn't smell good either...

My engine was a dealer replacement to my car right b4 I bought it (have the service invoice) and I've put about 70k on this engine.

I'm not interested in ATF treatment or other band-aids because I've been wanting to streetport anyways. thanks...

P.S. could it be just the turbo oil seals?

Hey there.... i think its your turbo seals.... I JUST got a rebuild from Atkins ($2200 w/ streetport) and my car is still smoking like it did before... and just yesterday I found a big-*** puddle of oil under my turbo... stupid thing... anyways, before you spend all that money to get a new engine, I'd get a new turbo or have it rebuilt.... and hell, if you have the cash to get a ported engine, maybe you should spend that on a nice upgraded turbo.

Well some places only charge an extra $500 to a rebuild for porting, since the engine is already out for the rebuild. So its not like there a lot more money involved to get it ported.

BTW how much would a turbo rebuild cost??

Thanks Taco - I am hoping it's the turbo which is quite possible. I had this blue smoke problem a few months ago and it alleviated itself magically for some reason.

I installed midpipe yesterday and floored 3rd w/o an FCD and did NOT hit fuel cut. I installed the FCD last nite and I think I may have reactivated/worsened the smoke problem. I'm sort of leaning towards the turbo seals as the engine pulls well but 2 years ago when I experimented with the mp I was boosting more due to creep. So I guess I'm hoping the turbo's shot. If so I think I'll get a rebuild with compressor upgrade. (If I do TO4E I'd have to have Haltech, etc. - too many $$$ right now)

I've got about 2-2500 to fix whatever it is and will get a compression check tomorrow...

Thats cool..... 2-2.5Gs could do some fun stuff to your car

Oh yeah.... a turbo rebuild, so i've heard, could cost around $400. Who knows if that is accurate though.
