how much hp

well im going to be getting a racing beat streetable header/presilencer for my 88 vert
n/t....and getting a catback also..i was just kind of wondering how much more hp i will get out of the header and exhaust....hopefully a little but sence the verts r kinda slow..thanks

25. 17 for removing the cat, 7-8 for the catback. That's the Racing Beat claim and what people in these forums have found on the dyno. RB says the downpipe (bolted to stock manifold) + presilencer gives about the same power, btw, and it's cheaper. The header helps more if you switch to a carbeurator. If you get a non-RB catback then the power from that will probably be similar, though there's a chance it'll be lousy.

Slim to none - odds are that everything else in your 20 year old car is kaput. Better throttle response & different exhaust note. Don't count on anything really significant unless your cats were clogged to start with. It's an NA - 2-8% isn't really noticeable. don't believe the hype. Mixing & matching odds & ends rarely leads to good results. Although a good header is a reasonable place to start it is not going to have DRAMATIC HP results, but is a good place to start.
