How much did your T2 swap cost?

Just curious on the price of the swap some of you incurred. I AM NOT ASKING HOW OR WHAT GOES INTO IT (that is searchable )

Just wanted to know the amount of mental anquish and lightened weight of your wallet that went into it

ive got about 5-6k in mine. way more than i had hoped for, and its not even finished yet. but ive also got a few performance parts on it, so that took some of the money up.
mental anquish, way too much. eventually i will be able to say it was worth it. but that time is not now. total time taken has been about 8 months. lots of sleepless nights, various trips to get parts, tools you didnt even know exsisted, other stuff you dont take into account when planning a budget to do this sort of thing.

Car + engine + parts I have now = Near $3,000.00 and I estimated about $2,000.00 more to spend.

Yes, they are doing everything. I drove my car there w/o a turbo, and I'm driving back with a turbo.

So far with the Haltech, motor and tranny combo, clutch kit, light flywheel, hks ssqv, tii hood I am looking at ~2300. Tons of other random **** was purchased as well, but I've yet to get to work. Trying to get all parts together, before I start to get to work.

Mine isn't exactly a T2 swap, since I bought a t2 shell and am putting and engine into it.

1987 TII:

S5 13B-T = 1000
All gaskets, and essential replacement excluding full rebuild = 300
Microtech LT8s = 800
ACT Prolite flywheel =200
Racing Beat turboback = 500
Walbro=40
Trust FMIC=90

I still have a few parts to purchase before I can finish it.

swaps can be a cheap as $500 (after you sell your non turbo parts) to $10,000. It just depends on what you do when you are doing the swap

well that's assuming you plan on selling your n/a and get a good price on both the n/a and turbo motor+drivetrain and that you do all the install yourself. And that's really the minimal basics. For a bit more you can actually get some goodies, and possibly get someone to do the swap if you're not that savy or don't have an engine lift.

But then again, I'm getting ready to sleep and I always somehow regret what I post the night before in the morning.
