how much coolant flows through the heater core?

Is there a fair amount of pressure in the heater core line? Reason I am asking is I think mine may be getting clogged. So, if normally there is not a lot of pressure, I might be able to open up the clog slightly with a garden hose, instead of tearing apart my dash. What do you think?

The pressure is the same throughout the cooling system.
A clogged heater core would restrict flow, but not lower pressure.

A normal cooling system flush job (with the heater turned on) will clean the heater core.

Just looking at the hoses & pipes, the flow probably probably runs 1/4 to 1/5 through the heater?
